Nissan Launches a Subscription Service In North America

Headquarters

Car subscription services are a quite fresh thing in the automotive world but it looks like it’s becoming pretty popular these days. Many carmakers offer this kind of service. The list includes several major carmakers, mostly luxury ones, such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW, Volvo, Cadillac etc. Nissan has joined the game as well.

The idea with all this is pretty simple. According to many researches, it looks like many millennial drivers aren’t particularly interested in things that is called owning a car. The subscription plan seems like a great choice for those who don’t want to stick to one vehicle for years. With this service, you can use pretty much every vehicle in the lineup.

In the case of Nissan, the new subscription service is divided into two tiers – Select and Premium. However, before you choose one of these two plans, you have to pay a membership activation fee, which would cost you around 495 dollars. After that, you choose between these two plans and pay on a monthly basis.

Subscription Service Plans

The Select plan costs 699 dollars a month and it includes models like Altima, Rogue, Pathfinder, and Frontier. The Premium plan costs a little bit more, 899 dollars per month, and includes models like Leaf Plus, Maxima, Murano, Armada, Titan, and 370Z. In both cases, you may count on unlimited vehicle switches, as often as a new vehicle each day, delivery, cleaning, insurance, roadside assistance, and regular maintenance.

Those who would like to drive the GT-R supercar can get it with both plans. The thing with it is that you will have to pay an additional 100 dollars a day. Also, you can take this model for only seven days.

There is no doubt that many drivers will like these programs, but there is also someone who won’t. Of course, we are talking about dealers, as they definitely see these services as undercutting their business model.
