It’s no secret that the next generation of the famous sports car is under development. The current 370Z is outdated in pretty much every aspect so fans of the legendary coupe and convertible are eagerly waiting to see a new model. At this point, we still don’t knot how the new generation will look like, but it seems we know it’s badge is going to look like. Apparently, the Japanese manufacturer has fill trademark in Canada for a new logo and it looks a little bit different compared to the current one. What does this mean, we can only speculate at the moment.
Retro Vibes? Yes, Definitely!
From what we can see on the photos, the new logo will feature not just a different font, but also a diagonal slash, which points to both ends of the letter. Those who are more familiar with the history of the Z Car can easily notice a lot of resemblance with some logos of the older generations of Datsun models, such as 240Z, 260Z and 280Z.
This makes all those rumors that suggest retro vibes for the new generation far more likely. We’ve been getting a lot of reports in the past few months that clearly suggest a retro look of the next-generation of Z Car, which seems like a great way to stand out from the crowd in the segment that is getting hotter and hotter every year. However, most of the things about the new model are still a mystery.
What we know about the next-generation model?
As we already mentioned, not much. Practically, the only thing that seems more or less certain is that the new generation will get a turbocharger. Allegedly, the new model will come as 400Z and that won’t be because of the engine size, but rather because of the output. It is expected that the new model will borrow a 3.0-liter turbo-six from Infiniti models, which delivers full 400 horsepower.
However, this brings another issue to the table – how to name the Nismo version, as it will feature more power than the standard model.
Some rumors also suggest the new Z Car may use a modified version of the new 3.8-liter V6 engine, which debuted in the mid-size truck Nissan Frontier.
As you can see, the company manages to keep most things as secret, but a good thing to know is that it won’t be able to do this for much longer, as the premiere should happen before the end of the year.
