Infiniti definitely has to boost its sales numbers and this model could become a savior. Although we are talking about future flagship model that won’t bring some huge number, such models are extremely important for the brand’s popularizations. Therefore, it’s no wonder that this scenario looks more likely than ever. Initially, the Japanese manufacturer never had the intention to produce this luxury coupe, which was originally introduced as the Infiniti Essence concept. However, times are changing, so latest reports suggest its arrival already in the next year, under the Infiniti Q100 Coupe name. Infiniti Q100 Coupe Design
At this point, the company keeps most details as secret, so we won’t go into anything specific. Still, we have no doubt that the new model will bring a lot of new design solutions and technologies, which will eventually be implemented into other models of the brand as well. The first thing that comes to mind is the platform. If we can trust our source, the Infiniti Q100 Coupe will ride on the same architecture as the upcoming next-gen Nissan GT-R. The famous supercar is eagerly waiting for a redesign and the two models are about to share a new, RWD architecture which will bring novelties in many aspects, starting from the utilization of lightweight materials, better handling, improved efficiency etc.
Infiniti Q100 Coupe Styling
New technologies and design solution are great, but the most prominent thing about this coupe will be its styling. If we look at the Essence concept, we can see a gorgeous curvy coupe that resembles old-school sports cars from the ’60s in a huge portion. Curvy lines, sleek profile and other things that characterize the Essence concept are about to carry on in the production model. Of course, some modifications are expected. When it comes to interior design, we can’t say too much at the moment. Still, we presume that the Infiniti Q100 Coupe will come in a typical 2+2 seating configuration. On the other side, the interior styling will probably be different from what we have seen in the concept version. Still, don’t expect Infiniti’s typical approach, as this model is expected to cost much more than an average model from this brand. In any case, tons of new technologies are coming for sure.
Infiniti Q100 Coupe Engine
This will definitely be one of the most interesting aspects of the new Infiniti Q100 Coupe. At this point, we can only say that the new model will feature tons of power. The concept version featured a hybrid system that combined a 3.7-liter V6 with a hi-output electric motor. The whole system was able to produce 600 horsepower, which promises excellent performances. Still, we expected to see something slightly different in the production model. First of all, a newer and more efficient 3.0-liter turbo V6 is expected to be found under the hood. Base models will probably be gasoline-only. The current version of this engine delivers around 400 hp, but additional tunings are possible. Of course, higher versions would come with a new, even more powerful hybrid powertrain. A V8 engine is in consideration too.
Release Date and Price
If we can rely on the latest reports, the Infiniti Q100 Coupe could arrive already in the next year. It is still too early to talk about the price, though some reports suggest that base versions will go around 100.000 dollars.
