The new model was just unveiled, and we already hear the first speculations and wishes for the 2021 Nissan Sentra. Of course, the vehicle will be pretty much the same, but the company is preparing surprises for the next edition. Still, the changes fit great for the new car. It is more aggressive, stylish, aerodynamic, and we are sure it will draw attention to all buyers (women and men, older and younger). Nissan is trying to make the Sentra a baby Maxima or Altima, and with the fresh model, they made it.
The Japanese carmaker made a surprising move by updating Sentra. We know that cars are not quite popular in the US. Ford is killing its sedans since crossovers and SUVs are taking over the market. Still, the new 2021 Nissan Sentra will appear in many other countries. This model is very popular in South America (Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Chile), China, Egypt, but as well in Mexico and Canada. In some countries, the new car is going to appear as Nissan Pulsar. Don’t be surprised if you see it as Sylphy as well.
Sales of the new Sentra are starting in January. The company didn’t announce the pricing. Experts already made predictions that the base version will start from $18,000.
First Impressions
The debut of the new Sentra will keep the public on alert for a while. A radical step forward makes things more interesting in the car market. The 2021 Nissan Sentra will be more competitive with Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. Ford Focus is history now, but the US carmaker is not going to give up on this market so easily.
Still, let’s go back to Sentra. The car introduces numerous updates, inside and outside. The inspiration is found in Nissan Altima and Maxima sedans. Still, there are some elements from the compact crossover class. The new Sentra managed to make an instant impression and the story is going to continue in 2021.
New Engine and Specifications
The company didn’t just redesign the look of the 2021 Nissan Sentra. The sedan will also get the new powertrain. A 2.0-liter engine is replacing an old 1.8-liter displacement. Now, the outputs are 150 hp and 145 pound-feet of torque. The bigger block adds 20 horsepower and 17 lb-ft of torque compared to its predecessor. Nissan also discontinues a manual gearbox, while the Xtronic CVT is now standard. Details about the fuel economy are not unveiled, but the Japanese company claims the new Sentra will deliver more miles. Previously, the car managed to return 29/37 with the CVT transmission. After improvements, the sedan will get to 40 mpg on highways.
2021 Nissan Sentra Turbo
The company also missing to confirm if the turbo engine comes back. A 1.6-liter unit with 188 hp was one of the most popular versions before. The replacement of a 1.8-liter engine has sense. However, we will see what happens to the Sentra Turbo. Experts believe it will arrive for the 2021 YM. Besides the extra power, a 1.6-liter engine can also produce 177 pound-feet of twist. The mileage drops to 30 miles, but it is still a good rate for the turbo engine. Still, there is room for improvement.
2021 Nissan Sentra Nismo
The turbo engine was reserved for the NISMO model. It is a performance-oriented package that is providing extra power and torque. Not only that, but the 2021 Nissan Sentra Nismo will offer unique upgrades for better performance. The car sits lower than before and special 18-inch wheels are sporty and eye-catching. Well, the new package could get a new drivetrain with more power. This time it will probably be more than 200 horsepower.
Changes for the New Model
The changes in the car are making it very impressive. Outside, there is a traditional V-Motion grille with slim headlights. The floating roof makes the car very attractive. Some sportier upgrades are available on higher trims. The base model is S, mid-range is SL, while the SV tops the standard range. Of course, Nismo is the other type of vehicle.
Inside the cabin, Nissan comes with so-called “zero gravity” seats. A lot of chrome accents and contrast stitches on leather buckets are available on higher trim levels. A 7-inch screen is standard, while the Nissan Connect comes with an 8-inch display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are coming in the same package. The safety system is Shield 360 and it is available for all models. Emergency braking, lane departure warning and keep assist are standard. Nissan also plans to develop a Level 4 autonomous drive. Will it be ready for the 2021 Sentra, we will see.
Colors
The new car comes with new paintjobs. There are eight base options for the 2021 Nissan Sentra. The colors you get with the standard configurations are Electric Blue, Brilliant Silver Metallic, Gun Metallic, Super Black, Aspen White, Fresh Powder, Rosewood Metallic, and Scarlet Ember. If this is not good enough, Nissan will offer two-tone paintjobs. Super Black/Gun Metallic, Super Black/Aspen White, and Super Black/Monarch Orange are combinations available for this choice.
