All-New 2021 Nissan Patrol: Redesign, Spy shots and Release Date

The famous full-size SUV is about to receive a complete overhaul in the next year if we can trust the latest reports. That’s doesn’t surprising at all, considering that the current generation has been around for a pretty long time. The current Patrol has been around since 2010 and although we saw a facelift in 2014, we are still talking about a decade-old vehicle. Therefore, this redesign seems more than welcome, despite that the current model is still competitive in many aspects, especially when it comes to driveability and overall performances. On the other side, it lacks modern feel both outside and inside, so the all-new 2021 Nissan Patrol looks like a natural thing.

The testing model has been spotted and although it still wears a complete camouflage, we have no doubt it will bring a full load of changes. We expect it will hit the market sometime in the second half of next year.

2021 Nissan Patrol Redesign

The new 2021 Nissan Patrol will bring a lot of novelties but interestingly, we probably won’t see a completely new platform. According to the latest reports, the Japanese manufacturer is about to stick to the same F-Alpha platform. Of course, we will see significant updates and upgrades in all aspects, so the new model should be more driveable, more comfortable and more efficient. This also means that Nissan gave up from idea to offer an electrified version of this SUV.

When it comes to styling, we expect an evolution of the current design language. The testing model has been spotted, though it still wears a complete camouflage. Still, we can see that the overall shape looks pretty similar to the current model. Bigger changes in size are not expected either. On the other side, count on a completely new face. we are about to see some elements of the brand’s new design language but considering the vehicles overall design, it would be hard to expect a full application of the famous V-motion grille.

Interior

The current model looks surprisingly nice from the inside. Of course, it shows signs of aging when it comes to aesthetics, but the overall quality is still pretty impressive. All materials feature hi-quality, while the sound insulation is pretty good as well. On the other side, tech features are definitely outdated, particularly in terms of the infotainment system. Therefore, we have big expectations for the new model.

The new 2021 Nissan Patrol will feature a completely new interior layout. Naturally, the first thing that comes to mind is a new dashboard design, which will be designed in a modern manner. Also, we count on a full load of latest tech features, including a new infotainment system, smartphone integration etc.

In terms of the overall cabin size, we don’t expect a bigger size. That definitely isn’t a problem, considering that the current model already delivers a pretty respectable amount of interior space. There is plenty of space in all three rows, while the cargo area is quite respectable as well.

2021 Nissan Patrol Engine

As we’ve already mentioned, the new 2021 Nissan Patrol won’t get any kind of electrification. We expect that the current 5.6-liter V8 will carry on, though slight modifications seem possible. We count on a little bit more power and improvements in terms of fuel economy. On the other side, the base V6 will be replaced most likely. Instead, we should see a new V6 engine, probably turbocharged. A diesel version is expected as well.

2021 Nissan Patrol Release Date and Price

The new 2021 Nissan Patrol is currently in the stage of development. The testing model has been spotted on the roads of the Middle East and it is still completely camouflaged. This indicates that we are still relatively far away from the final version. Therefore, we don’t expect to see the new model before the second half of the next year. When it comes to the price, we don’t expect bigger changes compared to the current model, which starts at around 54.000 dollars.

New Mitsubishi Pajero Could Be Based On The New Patrol!?

We are also getting reports about another legendary SUV. The current-generation is way too old by any standard and is available in China only. However, Mitsubishi has recently become a part of the Renault Nissan Alliance, which indicates the new generation could come, despite that everyone talks about how Mitsubishi is now focused on crossovers. Allegedly, the new Pajero would be based on the new Patrol and Armada. It would ride on the same platform and share most of mechanics, including powertrain. On the other side, it would come with its own styling. This seems possible, although it is still nothing more than a rumor. We are still waiting to get any kind of information from the officials.
