2021 Nissan Pathfinder Redesign is Finally Happening

The new model for the 2020 season took no big changes. It is a calm before a storm. The new 2021 Nissan Pathfinder is going to be an all-new model with a lot of changes. Well, the current edition is pretty attractive. Older fans are surprised by Pathfinder’s look, which is more like a crossover. Still, this is a big SUV, which will get the latest updates inspired by the new concepts the Japanese company recently presented.

So, the 2021 Nissan Pathfinder will get a new look. But, what about the engine room? It seems that the carmaker is losing the battle with its main rivals in this field. But, the situation is not urgent yet. The company plans the huge electrification for the crossover and SUV segments, for both premium and non-premium models. the 2021 Nissan Pathfinder will be at top of priorities, together with its luxury sibling, Infiniti QX60.

2021 Nissan Pathfinder Changes

The 2020 YM came without bit updates. This was expected since we got the new look of the Pathfinder with 2019 facelift. It would be too many updates for two straight seasons. The new 2021 Nissan Pathfinder is not confirmed yet. The redesign could debut as 2022 model as well. But, we believe the carmaker will speed up the process to stay in touch with the competition. Well, the portion of changes is so big, and we will find them everywhere – outside, inside, and under the bonnet.

Exterior

The new Pathfinder is the mid-size model with one of the coolest looks. It is not a rugged and boxy model. Now, it looks much sportier. Designers will continue to exploit the same styling language, so the new 2021 Nissan Pathfinder should be even more aesthetic. The overall length could grow and the new SUV will be 200 inches long.

The front fascia will be inspired by some of the newest creations by Nissan’s designers. And, we can see a lot of novelties recently. The company brought the Ariya concept for compact crossovers. Then, we have an older Monograph architecture. Well, this one is Infiniti’s platform, but some ideas could be implemented to the 2021 Pathfinder. Finally, the latest thing we saw by the Japanese carmaker is the coupe SUV. According to multiple sources, that will be Infiniti QX55. The non-premium Pathfinder could also get some updates similar to its sibling.

Interior

Base models of the 2021 Nissan Pathfinder are not going to disappoint. Well, the upper trim levels are going to offer some of the most advanced features on the market. Premium materials and accessories will make the Platinum trim level pretty expensive. We believe it will start just under $50,000. For example, the MSRP of the base QX60 costs less than $45,000.

But, let’s see what we expect from an entry-level model. It will keep a three-zone climate, push-button feature, and seven seats. With a few extra inches of overall length, the new 2021 Nissan Pathfinder will be spacious and more comfortable. An 8-inch touchscreen display is standard.

Going up the trim levels, we will find more interesting upgrades. For example, leather seats, navigation, premium audio, and many other features. SV model adds blind-spot monitor and intelligent cruise control functions. But, the next generation of the Pathfinder could come with a Level 4 autonomous drive. Nissan makes a huge announcement, but chiefs were not precise about the release date. Navigation, leather seats, and heated front buckets are the most notable additions for the SV trim, while the Platinum SUV makes everything special. Ventilated seats, Bose audio, dual panoramic sunroof, and 20-inch wheels are just some of the accessories you are getting with this one.

2021 Nissan Pathfinder Specs

The main drivetrain for the 2021 Nissan Pathfinder will remain a reliable V6 petrol unit. This 3.5-liter engine is capable to produce 285 hp, which is something we expect from a mid-size three-row SUV. The powerplant also delivers 260 lb-ft and returns 23 mpg combined. The energy is being transferred through the Xtronic continuously variable transmission to front wheels by default. If you want, intelligent 4×4 drive is not a full-time feature. It sends power to the axle which requires more energy. With the AWD on, the new Pathfinder can’t do better than 22 mpg.

Unless the rumors come true and the company launches the hybrid engine. This is one of the major downsides of the Pathfinder since its rivals are already available with such sources of energy. Well, the company is not making anything official yet. Stay tuned, we will look for more info and update you with the latest details.

2021 Nissan Pathfinder Release Date

As said, the new 2021 Nissan Pathfinder should bring a big redesign. The only thing we are waiting for is the official confirmation. Nissan could prolong the debut for 2021 until it makes everything perfect. Also, many things depend on a hybrid drivetrain.
