Next-Gen: 2021 Nissan Armada Complete Interior and Exterior Redesign

If you look at the age, the current generation of this full-size SUV doesn’t look that old. It came about four years ago, as a replacement for the aged first-generation model. However, the fact is that, at the time it arrived, the Armada wasn’t actually a new model. It came pretty much like a rebadged version of the more famous, internationally offered Patrol, which hasn’t been redesigned since 2010. Therefore, we can legally say that the current generation of Armada is a decade-old SUV, outdated by many standards. Therefore, reports about the next-generation, 2021 Nissan Armada seem natural.

The testing model has been spotted in the Middle East and it looks like there are tons of novelties to come. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is exterior design, but the new model will also come with a completely redesigned interior, as well as with numerous mechanical improvements.

2021 Nissan Armada Redesign

Considering the decade-old design, everyone expects to see a lot of novelties in the 2021 Nissan Armada. Of course, we will see a new styling, interior design and more, but what about the platform and mechanics. According to the latest reports, it looks like the current F-Alpha platform will remain, of course with significant updates. That’s not a bad thing at all, considering that even the current model offers amazing driving dynamics and handling, better than most younger competitors. Moreover, the driving experience is definitely the strongest point of the current generation, so such a move seems natural.

Keeping the current platform also means another important thing. The current platform doesn’t support battery packs and electric motors, so the new 2021 Nissan Armada probably won’t feature any electrified powertrain option. Moreover, Nissan is about to stick to proven gasoline units.

Styling

Of course, we have big expectations in terms of aesthetics as well. The current design has been around for about a decade and even the most recent updates didn’t help it looks much younger. This SUV definitely looks outdated, so we presume that the company’s designers have a lot of work with the new model.

The testing model has been spotted on the road. However, it still wears a complete camouflage, so we can’t talk about anything specific at this point. However, we can notice that the overall shape and proportions are about to remain quite similar. On the other side, we expect to see a completely new front and rear ends. Of course, the focus will be on the new face, which should follow the brand’s newest design language at some portion, though it’s not easy to manage that with a classic BoF SUV. On the other side, we count on all those design solutions that are typical for the modern automotive industry, particularly in terms of LED lighting and similar things.

Interior

The current model may be old, but its interior still looks very nice. Fortunately, the Armada features pretty much the same cabin as the luxurious Infiniti QX80, so you can find hi-quality materials throughout the cabin. All in all, the cabin is well-built and also very quiet. However, it shows its age in terms of aesthetics, and that is the aspect where we expect to see a lot of improvements. The new model should come with completely new dashboard design. Also, we expect to see a full load of advanced tech features, considering that the current model isn’t particularly great in that aspect.

The aspect where the current model is pretty great is interior space. The first and second rows offer plenty of comforts, while the third one is suitable for adults as well. Therefore, we expect from the 2021 Nissan Armada to continue in the same way.

2021 Nissan Armada Engines

For the next generation, we will probably see a couple of modifications that would provide more power and better efficiency. The efficiency is very important, considering that the current model is quite thirsty, as it returns around 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway.

Also, we count on another engine option in the offer. That will be a V6 engine. However, it is still unclear whether we are going to see naturally-aspirated or turbo V6 option.

2021 Nissan Armada Release Date and Price

The all-new 2021 Nissan Armada is still in a testing phase and we are still far away from production to know a more precise release date. Still, most reports suggest the new model should hit the market already in the next year. The current model starts at around 47.000 dollars and we don’t expect bigger significant changes in the future.
