2020 Nissan Versa Price, SR, Interior

The popular subcompact car has always been a great choice for those who don’t want to spend a too big amount of money but want a decent quality return. For the next year, this model is coming completely redesigned. The number of novelties is pretty big and the 2020 Nissan Versa is coming significantly improved in many aspects. Not only that it looks more attractive, but it also rides much better.

The comfort and interior quality have been improved as well, while the powertrain department comes with novelties too. There is a new engine, with more power than before. Also, there is a new transmission. All in all, this redesign is more than welcome, especially if we consider that the previous model was in the production for a quite long time, which isn’t a common thing among subcompact cars. The 2020 Nissan Versa has already been on sale on some markets.

2020 Nissan Versa Redesign

The 2020 Nissan Versa brings a full portion of novelties. First of all, there is a completely new exterior design, or to say – almost completely new. The interesting thing is that this small vehicle still rides on the same good old V platform. Of course, the new model has been significantly improved. The chassis is almost completely new, as well as the suspension setup. Also, the new model is notably bigger. It is longer for about three inches, which will definitely have a big impact on comfort and overall ride quality.

In terms of styling, the new model looks significantly better than its predecessor. The 2020 Nissan Versa finally adopts the brand’s latest design language and features the famous V-Motion grille. Of course, a lot of design solutions have been borrowed from bigger counterparts like Sentra and Maxima. The new model looks sleeker and sportier, so we won’t be surprised if some kind of performance version arrives one day.

Interior

As we already mentioned, the new model is bigger than its predecessor. It features three more inches in wheelbase, which in practice means more space on the inside. However, things are a little bit different in this case, at some point. On one side, the front seats definitely benefit from the new size. There are three more inches of legroom for front passengers. On the other side, the second row is much tighter than before. With 6 inches less than before, we can’t say that the Versa is still among class leaders in this aspect.

Interior

On the other side, you can easily notice a significant improvement in terms of interior quality. There is a new dashboard, which looks much better than before. Of course, a lot of inspiration has been taken from bigger siblings, including those three air vents at the center stack. Typically for the segment, there is still a lot of plastics, but you can find a lot of nice materials as well. All in all, the cabin looks very good. Finally, the cargo area features almost 15 cubic feet, which are pretty solid numbers for the class.

Features

You can notice a much longer list of standard equipment in the new 2020 Nissan Versa. First of all, there is a whole bunch of new tech goodies. Base models now come with things like a 7-inch touchscreen and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. That still isn’t a common thing among subcompact cars. Also, higher trims offer upgrades in terms of satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, remote starts and more.

When it comes to safety, all models come standard with things like forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, in addition to lane departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rearview camera., which looks pretty impressive for a subcompact car. Additionally, you can get more advanced systems like blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, driver alertness monitoring etc.

Rear View

2020 Nissan Versa Engine

The familiar 1.6-liter engine has been slightly upgraded for this occasion. The new version features 122 horsepower, which is a slight power boost over the previous generation. However, acceleration still isn’t on a satisfying level. The engine comes in pair with standard 5-manual and optional CVT gearbox, which can be pretty loud some times. Still, we like the fact that it mimics traditional shifts. There is no doubt that the new model is a decent daily driver, especially if we consider pretty impressive fuel economy. This small car returns around 32 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway with a CVT gearbox. Ratings are slightly lower with the manual transmission.

2020 Nissan Versa Price

With the starting price under 15.000 dollars, the 2020 Nissan Versa is one of the most affordable models in the class. Higher trims aren’t much more expensive either. They go up to 19.000 dollars. Some of the rivals are models like Toyota Yaris, Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio, Honda Fit etc.
