After the launch of new Altima, we are eagerly waiting to see its Asian counterpart, which is about to come as the 2020 Nissan Teana. The current generation of this large sedan has been around since 2013, so this seems like a perfect time for a redesign. Of course, we are about to see a lot of novelties, starting from a new design, which includes far more attractive styling as well. Of course, there is a new platform, new engines, as well as much better-looking cabin, full of latest tech features and advanced safety systems. We expect to see it by the end of the year.
2020 Nissan Teana Redesign
The 2020 Nissan Teana will come with a full load of novelties. Like any other redesign, this one will also bring completely new aesthetics. We expect a look that is pretty close to the new Altima. In practice, this means far better visual appeal compared to the current generation, which definitely looks outdated. The new model will finally adopt the brand’s new design language, characterized by the famous V-Motion grille layout.
In terms of mechanics, the new model gets the latest version of the CMF platform, which will bring significant improvements in terms of handling, efficiency and overall ride quality. Another thing we should mention is that the new model will get two more inches in wheelbase. This promises more space on the inside.
Interior
As we’ve just mentioned, two more inches will definitely provide more legroom in the new 2020 Nissan Teana. Still, that’s not the only important novelty of this redesign. The cabin will be completely redesigned and we count on a lot of similarities with the new Altima, which debuted last year. That is definitely a great thing, considering that the North American sedan features pretty upscale-looking cabin, full of quality materials and attractive lines.
Also, this sedan will come well-equipped. Latest reports are suggesting that power-adjustable driver’s seat could be a standard feature already in base trim. Of course, higher trims will come available with things like leather upholstery, heated seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and more. We count on a long list of tech goodies as well. Large touchscreen, smartphone integration and other connectivity features seem certain. Also, we count on loads of safety features.
The list will include things like forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, and a rearview camera. Of course, many more will be available in higher trims. We could expect to see advanced systems like pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition etc.
2020 Nissan Teana Engines
This engine features great reliability and, more importantly, excellent fuel economy, which makes this large sedan on of the class leaders in this aspect. On the other side, we presume that the V6 engine will be dropped. Instead, we should see a new turbo-four, just like in the new Altima. This engine is rated at 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque and comes in pair with a CVT gearbox. Some reports also suggest a hybrid version in the near future, though the company is still quiet on this matter.
2020 Nissan Teana Release Date
The 2020 Nissan Teana should arrive by the end of the year if we can rely on the latest reports. However, a more precise date is still a mystery. We presume that more details will be known in the next couple of weeks.
