2020 Nissan Sentra SV, SR, Interior, Colors

The 2020 Nissan Sentra is about to come completely new. We are eagerly waiting to see the eighth generation of the legendary compact car, which has been around for decades. The current generation came in 2013 and we haven’t seen too many changes since then. Therefore, this overhaul is more than welcome. The current model lacks refinement and style in all aspects, particularly in terms of aesthetics and interior quality. Therefore, the 2020 Nissan Sentra is about to bring various improvements. Considering that the Chinese version of this sedan, known as the Sylphy, already had a premiere, we know how the new model will look like.

Of course, there will be some slight differences in style, but things will generally be pretty much the same. The new model has taken off the camouflage almost entirely and we are now waiting for its launch, which should happen in the next few months.

2020 Nissan Sentra Redesign

The 2020 Nissan Sentra will come with a plethora of novelties. This will be a complete overhaul, which will bring improvements in various aspects, starting from new styling, better driving experience, more efficient engines etc. The interesting thing about the new model is that it will continue to ride on the same V platform as the current model. Still, we will see a lot of rework on it, particularly in terms of improved ride quality. Naturally, a huge number of mechanical parts will be replaced, starting from a new suspension setup, which will play the most important role in improving the ride quality of the new generation.

In terms of size, we won’t see bigger changes. The new model will feature just 0.5 inches longer wheelbase, which doesn’t promise significant improvements in terms of interior space. Still, the new 2020 Nissan Sentra will be for more than two inches wider, which promises significant improvements in terms of handling and driveability.

Styling

The testing model still wears a slight camouflage but shows most of its characteristics. Moreover, the Chinese version has been presented some time ago, so we know how the new model will look like. A couple of revisions on the North American model could come, but things will definitely remain the same. In practice, this means a completely new front end, based on Nissan’s latest design language. We are about to see much sharper approach in the new model, as well as the latest iteration of the brand’s famous V-motion grille.

A big difference can also be noticed on the front bumper, which is more massive and significantly sharper, particularly in terms of fog lights and the surrounding area. The rear end is also completely new, highlighted by new taillights.

Interior

This is where we expect a significant improvement over the previous generation. The outgoing model definitely features an outdated cabin look. While the overall quality seems okay, the fact is that most of the surfaces are made from hard plastics, which doesn’t look particularly attractive. The new 2020 Nissan Sentra will be a completely opposite story. The new dashboard will take inspiration from the recently redesigned Altima, which in practice means three attractive round air vents on the center stack and a tablet-like touchscreen.

Nissan Sentra Interior

Despite the fact that the new model will be just slightly bigger than its predecessor, we have no doubt that the 2020 Nissan Sentra will also be one of the most spacious models in the class. The outgoing model already offers an impressive amount of legroom in both rows and can easily accommodate five adult passengers. Same goes for the cargo area. With more than 15 cubic feet, the current model is on par with mid-size sedans.

2020 Nissan Sentra Engines

Big novelties are expected under the hood of 2020 Nissan Sentra as well. We have no doubt that the current base engine will be replaced, as it definitely lacks power and come be very loud sometimes. Most like, it will be replaced with a bigger 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which is good for about 140 horsepower. It delivers more power and should be able to mark similar mpg ratings as the current engine, which returns around 29 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.

Of course, we count on a turbocharged option as well. The current generation comes with a 1.6-liter turbo-four, which is good for about 188 hp. We presume this engine will carry on, though with slight power boost. When it comes to transmission, we expect both manual and CVT gearboxes in the offer.

2020 Nissan Sentra Release Date and Price

The new 2020 Nissan Sentra is in the final stage of development and we expect that the new model will hit the market by the end of the year. When it comes to the price, we don’t expect significant deviations from the current model. To remind you, the current Sentra starts at around 18.000 dollars, while range-topping models can go over 26.000. The competition in the segment is pretty tough. Some of the key players are models like Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra etc.
