2020 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum, Release date, Interior

Despite the fact that the current Pathfinder is one of the oldest options on the market of mid-size SUVs, it looks like the Japanese manufacturer won’t rush into the redesign process. According to the latest reports, the current generation is about to carry on for a couple of more years. Therefore, the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder will continue with a  familiar design, which hasn’t changed too much since the initial launch in 2013.

For those who are not so familiar with the current generation, the Pathfinder is a crossover now. It rides on a modern unibody platform. Still, it kept a lot of design characteristics that were typical for some previous generations. So, we could say that this model is a kind of mix of modern and traditional. Is that good or not, it’s usually up to potential buyers. So, the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder release date should be scheduled for the end of the year.

2020 Nissan Pathfinder Redesign

As we already mentioned, the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder will continue with familiar design characteristics. Therefore, count on a familiar design, which hasn’t changed too much for these six years of production. The upcoming model will continue with the same styling, which isn’t most up-to-date and definitely looks outdated compared to much younger competitors. Still, it doesn’t mean it looks bad, just nothing more than decent. Same goes for the mechanics. Due to its age, the Pathfinder features dull steering and driving experience definitely isn’t its strongest point. It is rather practical and functional, a real family SUV. Considering that the current generation is getting close to the end of its production, we don’t expect more important novelties for the next year. Still, don’t exclude the possibility to see a couple of new color options and features in the offer.

Once again, the Pathfinder pays the debt to its age. The dashboard and the rest of the cabin somehow look blend, definitely not as attractive as you would expect from today’s crossovers. However, that doesn’t mean that the overall quality is subpar. Materials are actually very good. Also, the first row of seats is extremely comfortable, with excellent support. On the other side, the second and third rows could have been better, especially in terms of space. In any case, there is enough room to accommodate seven-passenger, though the third row is best to be left for kids. When it comes to the cargo area, this SUV has around 16 cubic feet behind the third row. Once you fold it down, the capacity goes up to 47.5 cubic feet, while the overall capacity goes up to 80 cubic feet.

Trim Levels

Although we may see a couple of additions for the next year, the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder will definitely keep the same trim level organization. Therefore, count on four familiar versions – S, SV, SL, and Platinum.

The base S model will come standard with things like 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, tri-zone automatic climate control, as well as with tech features like 8-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, Bluetooth, USB ports, six-speaker sound system, etc.

The SV adds several interesting features, starting from safety features like automatic headlights, foglights, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control. Also, you can count on power-adjustable driver’s seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel etc.

The SL is also a nice upgrade. Some of the highlights are standard features like leather upholstery, LED headlights, a power liftgate, power-adjustable passenger’s seat, 360-degree parking camera etc.

Of course, the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum will continue to be a top-range model, which some pretty exclusive features like ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable steering wheel and wood interior trim. You can also get a rear-seat entertainment system.

2020 Nissan Pathfinder Engine

This aspect of the SUV definitely won’t bring any change. The 2020 Nissan Pathfinder will continue with a familiar 3.5-liter V6, which features a max output of around 285 horsepower. It comes in pair with a CVT gearbox and delivers pretty strong performances. It accelerates very well, while the overall driving experience is very convenient. Also, this SUV is one of the best models in the class when it comes to towing capacity. It can tow up to 6.000 pounds, which better than most rivals.

When it comes to fuel economy, CVT gearbox does its job great. So, you can count on pretty solid 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. These are above-average numbers for the class.

2020 Nissan Pathfinder Release Date and Price

Considering that there are no bigger changes to come for the next year, we presume that the new model won’t arrive before the end of the year. When it comes to the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder price, it should remain the same. The current model starts at around 31.500 dollars, while top-range models can easily get close to 45.000 dollars.

When to expect Nissan Pathfinder fully redesigned?

It’s hard to say anything more precise at the moment. The current generation has been around since 2013 which indicates that a complete overhaul is near. Most likely, that will happen in about a year or two, for the 2022-year model. For that occasion, the Pathfinder will get a completely new design and we have no doubt it will continue with a unibody platform.
