2020 Nissan Almera Redesign, Changes, Price

The smallest sedan in Nissan’s offer has been completely redesigned for the next year. Also known as the Versa in some parts of the world, this subcompact car comes with significant improvements in many aspects. It has always been known as an affordable car, but the new 2020 Nissan Almera comes with higher quality and a much longer list of standard equipment, particularly in terms of safety features and other tech goodies. Another important thing to mention is that the new model is bigger and offers more space on the inside.

On the other side, the powertrain remains a big drawback of this car, considering the obvious lack of power. The 2020 Nissan Almera had a premiere in most parts of the world and should hit the market pretty soon.

2020 Nissan Almera Redesign

This redesign brings a lot of novelties. First of all, the interesting thing we should mention is that the 2020 Nissan Almera still rides on a well-known V platform. However, the architecture has been updated and upgraded significantly and now delivers a much better driving experience. Also, the thing we should mention is that the new generation is notably bigger. The new model gets more than three additional inches in wheelbase, as well as in the overall length. This definitely has a huge impact on interior space.

Of course, there is a new styling as well. The outdated look has finally been replaced and the new model finally follows the brand’s latest design language. A well-known V-Motion grille is here, as well as other elements of the current styling philosophy. Another thing we like is that wheels are bigger in the new model, which definitely has a highly positive effect on visual appeal.

Interior

On the inside, you can notice significant improvement. As we’ve already mentioned, this model has always been an affordable car before everything. Therefore, the previous generation was characterized by extremely low-rent materials, dull plastics in particular. Things are much better in the 2020 Nissan Almera. Of course, most of the surfaces are still made from plastics, but the new cabin looks far more refined and very attractive as well. We should also notice that each trim level comes with different color schemes.

2020 Nissan Almera Interior

When it comes to the interior space, the new 2020 Nissan Almera offers more than its predecessor. There are three more inches of legroom, so the difference is obvious in front seats. Interestingly, rear seats are much tighter compared to the previous generation. The second row definitely isn’t recommender to taller passengers. When it comes to the cargo space, you can count on about 15 cubic feet, which seems petty decent for a vehicle of this size.

Features

Another thing we like about the new model is a pretty decent list of standard equipment. All models come standard with a 7-inch touchscreen, which may not be the fastest one, but generally works okay. Also, all models except base ones come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integrations, which is really nice. Speaking of tech goodies, higher trims also offer things like satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, automatic climate control, remote start etc.

Considering the segment and the price tag, the 2020 Nissan Almera comes with an impressive list of safety features. All models come standard with things like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, in addition to lane departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights etc. Higher trim levels even offer things like blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, driver alertness monitoring etc.

2020 Nissan Almera Engine

The new 2020 Nissan Almera is great in so many aspects. In terms of performances, it’s not. The new generation comes with the same 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, which comes with a slight power boost, so a max output now goes up to 122. That’s subpar for today’s industry standards, so you shouldn’t expect too much from this car in terms of dynamics. The engine comes in pair with a CVT gearbox, which works okay, though it can be pretty loud some times. We like it because it mimics gear shifts of traditional automatic transmission. Base models come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

While performances definitely aren’t on a high level, fuel economy is. With the CVT, you can count on pretty amazing 32 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. With the manual transmission, the numbers are notably lower. You can count on about 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.

2020 Nissan Almera Release Date and Price

The all-new 2020 Nissan Almera will hit the market pretty soon, in a matter of weeks. It will be slightly more expensive compared to the previous generation. The base price will probably go around 15.000 dollars, though slight deviations are possible depending on the market.
