There are a few minor changes on the new 2020 Infiniti QX60 compared to its predecessors. The most of the vehicle is the same. Unfortunately, you won’t find the Limited edition SUV, which cost nearly $20,000 above the base version. Also, the SUV will offer the AWD model for $200 more than before. The QX60 is going to be more attractive than before, but we believe this is just a slowdown before the SUV hits the new generation in 2021. We already have some info about this move, so stay tuned and be sure to follow us daily for the new updates.
While we are waiting for the hybrid version, the competition is already taking advantage of the new technologies. The competition is very tough in the mid-size luxury segment and the lack of any details could cause a lot of troubles. Still, the QX60 still maintains its position thanks to the breathtaking design and interior. Well, the future SUV will have to offer a lot more if it wants to keep up with the rivals.
2020 Infiniti QX60 Specs
Under the bonnet of the 2020 Infiniti QX60 is a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine. It is a reliable unit, but sadly, the only option for the luxury SUV. If Infiniti wants to keep up with competition, they will need a hybrid at the first place. Also, a high-performance version is possible. However, this is going to happen when the SUV enters the new generation.
Until this happens, the V6 is going to deliver 295 hp through a CVT transmission. The drivetrain also produces 275 lb-ft of torque and returns 22 mpg combined. Towing capacity of the premium SUV is 5,000 pounds. Front-wheel drive is standard, and buyers can opt for the AWD. This system is $200 more expensive this time. Also, drivers have in offer four different drive modes.
With only one engine option, fans who like more power turns to other sources. In the luxury SUV class, we can find also performance-oriented models, as well as the vehicles with hybrid drivetrains. This is the major lack of the 2020 Infiniti QX60. Its main rivals are in advantage because of such powerplant. Nissan, as a leader in this segment, didn’t bring a hybrid yet. A lot of expectations are ahead of the new generation and 2021 YM.
The luxury SUV is a seven-seater. Optionally, captain’s chairs are available for the middle-row. The base version is pretty equipped, but the premium SUV will need to offer more in future. The 2020 Infiniti QX60 will come with leather upholstery right from the start. Driver’s bucket is an 8-way power seat, while passengers can set their seat in six ways. Three-zone climatization can be upgraded through optional packages. Center of the infotainment system is an eight-inch touchscreen display with Bluetooth audio.
Optionally, the 2020 season model is going to offer Luxe package. Limited edition is dropped for the new edition, so we expect further updates on this SUV. The Luxe is coming with a 13-speaker premium system and memory setting for seats. Plenty of optional packages are part of the Luxe trim level. For example, Essential suite upgrades the offer with navigation, genuine leather, and a 360-degree camera. Also, Theater package is improving infotainment system, including huge screens in the headrests.
The biggest rival to the 2020 Infiniti QX60 will be Acura MDX. Both three-row seven seat premium SUVs are getting power from a similar V6 engines. Well, the MDX Sport Hybrid offers 320 hp. Still, the leader in the segment is Lexus RX 350. Toyota’s premium version is available in hybrid, extended, and F Sport variant. In the US soil, you will find domestic vehicles, such as Lincoln Aviator and Cadillac XT6. The late one is also coming with a petrol engine only.
German carmakers are hybridizing their SUVs as well. The new Mercedes GLE and BMW X5 are very luxurious. Audi Q7 is refreshing its body, while the Volvo comes out with a new XC90. If you don’t want a premium model, check out the new Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, or Nissan Pathfinder.
