2020 Infiniti Q50 Price, Release Date, Red Sport

The small luxury sedan isn’t the freshest model in the segment, but the company feels there is still enough time to keep it on the market. It came as a brand-new model in 2013. Therefore, we could expect a redesign in the relatively near future. Despite the age, the model still looks pretty impressive and is one of the best-looking sedans in the class. Interestingly, we haven’t seen any facelift yet, despite there were some major updates a couple of years ago. Even the last-year model came with small updates, so we could expect the same from the 2020 Infiniti Q50 as well.

Still, the most interesting change will be under the hood. If we can rely on the latest reports, Infiniti will drop the base four-cylinder option. Add to this the last-year hybrid discontinuation and it becomes clear that the 2020 Infiniti Q50 will be available with a V6 engine only. Expect to see it sometime late in the year.

2020 Infiniti Q50 Redesign

In terms of base design characteristics, the 2020 Infiniti Q50 definitely won’t change. The compact sedan will carry on with the super-stylish design, which is definitely one of its strongest points. Still, that doesn’t change the fact that we are talking about one of the oldest models in the class. It may not be easy to notice by aesthetics, but things become clear once you sit behind the steering wheel. Most drivers offer better handling and sportier performances, which are crucial things for this segment. Still, the Q50 is quite comfortable and those who don’t necessary need sporty performances would definitely enjoy the ride. In other case, upgrades are available. The 2020 Infiniti Q50 Red Sport will continue not just with a more powerful engine, but also with suspension tunings, which provide significantly better handling. Still, even this model lags behind hi-performance rival versions.

2020 Infiniti Q50 Interior

As we already mentioned, the comfortable ride is definitely one of the strongest points of this small sedan. The first thing we should mention is the quality of the seats. They are soft, massive and with excellent support, definitely some of the best in class. Also, both rows offer plenty of legroom, so adults can enjoy a comfortable ride. Behind the rear seats, you can count on about 13 cubic feet, which are pretty decent numbers for the class.

When it comes to interior quality, the Q50 starts to show its age. This cabin is definitely a nice place to be in. The materials are very good, while the dashboard looks very stylish. Moreover, the dual-screen setup looks quite fancy, although it definitely isn’t the most functional and practical thing you can find in the class.

Features

Some smaller changes are possible in this aspect for the next year. Still, we don’t expect to see anything more notable. The core will remain the same, so the list of standard equipment should remain largely the same. Therefore, base models will continue with leatherette upholstery, while higher trim levels will offer more comfort and convenience, with things like leather uphostlery, heated seats, Eight-way power-adjustable front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel etc.

In terms of tech goodies, all models come standard with the aforementioned dual-screen setup. The upper screen measures 8 inches, while the lower is a little bit smaller. Other notable features are things like Bluetooth, two USB ports, HD Radio, voice recognition, satellite radio, and a six-speaker audio system. Additionally, you can get Bose premium audio system, navigation, Wi-Fi hotspot etc.

Safety

Besides great crash test results, this small sedan also has several advanced systems on the list of standard features. All models come with a rearview camera, predictive forward collision warning, and forward emergency braking. In higher trims, you can also get safety features like 360-degree parking camera, blind spot monitoring, high beam assist, front and rear parking sensors, backup collision intervention, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention etc.

2020 Infiniti Q50 Engines

Big changes are expected under the hood, as the latest rumors are suggesting that the base 2.0-liter turbo-four will be dropped. The next-year will come with V6 versions only. The electrified version has been dropped and despite the rumors, the 2020 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid definitley won’t come back.

So, standard models will now feature a 3.0-liter turbo V6, which is good for about 300 horsepower. That seems more than enough for a convenient ride. Still, if you prefer something peppier, the same engine comes in a variant with twin turbochargers. This one is good for pretty impressive 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy ratings of these two powertrains are slightly below-average. Base version returns around 20 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

Another thing that we have to mention is that the new engine lineup will have a huge effect on the price tag. V6 models cost notably higher than the turbo-four version, so the base 2020 Infiniti Q50 price will be higher as well.

2020 Infiniti Q50 Release Date

We expect that the 2020 Infiniti Q50 release date will be scheduled for late 2019.
